World Wildlife Fund is an international NGO which works in the field of wilderness preservation and the reduction of human impact on the environment.
As part of an international partnership between WWF and the Barefoot College, the”Solar Women Engineer” approach started in Madagascar 2012. WWF initiated then its first rural electrification program. A new training center was built and opened in 2019. A project that TV has been supporting.
We are currently involved in a new project in Myanmar, that is upscaling the concept from India and Madagascar in training women as solar engineers and bringing to light stories of Asian and African women leading household solar community elctrification in their villages.
