Barefoot College

Barefoot College started for over 40 years ago in India educating illiterate women indifferent skills. They are trained to become solar electricians in countries where access to electricity is limited especially in rural areas. Through the initiative of WWF, Barefoot College is establishing a base in Madagascar which will provide women with a local center from where to avail a comprehensive solar training. They become “SolarEngineers” who can design, install and maintain solar systems producing electricity to their villages. TV is contributing in the construction of new buildings and with the purchase of electronic material.
